The iPLUS patent entitled “Nucleic Acid to Activate Protein Expression and Production”, filed by the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMC), has priority filing made in Portugal on October 9, 2018, under the number PT115073A, establishing the invention’s protection starting from this date.

On October 9, 2019, a PCT application (PCT/PT2019/050035) was filed and the invention was subsequently published on April 16, 2020 (WO2020076174A1), marking the public disclosure of the application and allowing further progression in multiple jurisdictions.

The patent is now protected and published in key territories, including Canada, the United States, China, Japan, and Israel.

Additionally, the European Patent Office (EPO) has now issued a notification of intention to grant, indicating that the patent will soon be officially granted across designated EU member states. This milestone reflects the successful examination of the invention’s novelty, inventiveness, and industrial applicability.
